A Helping Handknit

Every issue, we encourage you to send a knitted item to a deserving charity. Here’s a list of more charities to keep you busy during the lazy days of summer. You can make sweaters, socks, blanket squares, hats—just about anything—in time for cold-weather months to settle in.

And since knitting is more fun in the company of others, why not ask a few of your friends to join you? Meet at work during lunch and engage your crafty co-workers. Invite your friends and family to a potluck party, where everyone brings yarn, patterns, and needles to share. Or make it a monthly event at a café or local yarn shop. You’ll enjoy the social benefits of knitting while helping those in need.

Please keep us posted on your progress at letters@knittingtodaymag.com!
