Explanation of how to work K1F. (The pattern is correct). 

Insert the right-hand needle under the two floats and into the first stitch on the left needle. Knit the stitch as usual, then slide the right-hand needle and the new knit stitch that's on the needle underneath the floats to the front of the work. After you work the next stitch, the floats will be encased inside the stitch.
